Hey Dick, my sorta
cousin....,
I was going to call you
tonight, but haven't been feeling well and decided to
take this means of communication. In answer to
Question #1 regarding " what have I been doing the
last few decades? " ---- well, as everyone knows,
Tony and I got married 2 years after graduation and
had three children, Kelly in 1977, B.J. in 1982 ,
and Heather in 1986. In 1994 we moved from Coon
Rapids, Ia. to Galva, Il. were we still live. We are
proud grandparents to 7 grand-children and 1 great
grandchild. Other than about 8 years that I was a
stay at home Mom, I have worked mostly as a
bookkeeper and in banks. I currently work at a bank
in Galva, Il. were I have been employed for 18
years. My husband ,Tony, who feels almost like my
classmates are his too, would also enjoy seeing all
of you as much as I would, but unfortunately it has
not worked out for us to do that. Tony and I have
been blessed with 43 mostly happy and fun years
together.
In answer to question #2
regarding " what are my interests? " ---- I guess
my answer would be spending time with family and
friends, spending weekends during the spring ,summer
and fall at our seasonal campsite, and playing games
on Facebook
In answer to question #3,
"Do you have any good memories of school or
Glidden?"---- I can truthfully say I have great
memories of my school days from 3rd to 6th grade and
then later when my family moved back to Glidden in
my Jr. year thru senior year. For the most part,
our classmates all got along well and were always up
for fun and a good time. My girlfriends, Shelley,
Lila, Chrystal, Peggy S, Carla, Betty Jane, Kristy,
Peggy C. and Lora, {hope I didn't forget
anyone--sorry, if I did } were the best!!! We had
such great times !!!! Although I have many wonderful
memories of my high school days, the story I've told
the most over the years was right around graduation
time and after a concert, Lila and I were sure we
saw a flying saucer when making the big u-turn by
the elevator when I was scooping the loop in my 66
Barracuda-- nobody believed us!! Sure hope you
remember that Lila or it may be time for me to go to
the home!! LOL Always wonder if kids today have as
much fun as all of us did. Having Jeff, Paul, and
Jim in any class always made for a fun time, too!
As for a message to the
reunion committee, I just want to say thanks for
caring enough about all of us that you have worked
so hard to keep in touch over the years--I hope it
will work out the next time for us to see you all
again----we were an awesome class and I have
special memories of each of you. And Dick, you will
always be my special sorta cousin.
Take care
everyone!
